PSG College of Nursing celebrates Foundation Day 2023
PSG College of Nursing celebrated its Foundation Day to commemorate the legacy and success with enthusiasm and exuberance on Tuesday, November 7th 2023 at PSG IMS&R Auditorium.
After establishing PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and PSG Hospitals in 1985, PSG & Sons’ Charities realized in view of their mission statement, the importance of Nurses contribution to strengthen the health care, PSG College of Nursing was established in November 7th 1994. It has been all these years of dedication and single-minded commitment by many, to create the distinctive aura and reputation of the Institution.
The function was graced by the galaxy of eminent dignitaries, the Chief Guest Dr. Sudha Seshayyan, M.S., PGDP., Former Vice Chancellor, the Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Shri. G.R. Karthikeyan Founder Trustee & Chairman, Shri. L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities, Prof. Dr. A. Jayasudha, RN RM, Ph.D (N), Principal, PSG College of Nursing and Distinguished Alumni Awardees.
Prof. Dr. A. Jayasudha, Principal, PSG College of Nursing welcomed the gathering. She highly regarded and thanked the unwavering support of all those who helped in the evolvement of the Institution. She mentioned the immeasurable contributions of the Founder Trustee and Managing Trustees whose vision and guidance led to the establishment of this renowned Institution.
Shri. L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities presided over the function.
He appreciated the enormous growth that PSG College of Nursing undergone through its quality standards, quality patient care through integration and International Collaboration with various universities around the world which makes the learning and research to international repute. He congratulated the awardees for their collective efforts that have enabled the profession to flourish & thrive to set a standard of excellence as an inspiration to others.
The Sterling alumni achievers Dr. S. Valliammal, RN RM Ph.D (N), (B.Sc (N) 1995 – 1999) Lecturer, College of Nursing, NIMHANS, Bengaluru, Dr. Sivbalan. T, RN RM Ph.D (N), PDF, FAIMER Fellow., (B.Sc (N) 1996 – 2000) Principal, Bhonsala Institute of Nursing, Nasik, Dr. Jamuna Rani. R, RN RM Ph.D (N), (B.Sc (N) 1997 – 2001), Associate Professor, AIIMS Kalyani, West Bengal were honored with “Distinguished Alumni Award 2023”. The awardees thanked PSG College of Nursing for recognizing them and expressed that they are proud to be an alumnus of this prestigious Institution.
The Chief Guest Dr. Sudha Seshayyan, M.S., PGDP., Former Vice Chancellor, Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University lauded the efforts of PSG College of Nursing throughout its journey.
A video which depicted the journey of PSG & Sons’ Charities and PSG College of Nursing enthralled and inspired everyone.
The distinguished alumni shared their insights and their PSG experience which illuminated the spirit and zeal among the faculty and students of PSG College of Nursing. The Program culminated with Vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Maheshwari. T, Associate Professor, PSG College of Nursing and President, Alumni Association.
