The evnet was in honor of the 100th birthday of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women founder, the Late Smt. Chandrakanthi Amma. The students and professors collaborated with the Siruthuli organization to plant 2,200 saplings on the PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya campus. They will take care of these saplings for the next three years until they grow into trees. This initiative is not only a remarkable act of social service but also raises environmental awareness. Drip irrigation facilities have been set up to ensure the saplings are well-maintained. The college administration, professors, and students have contributed funds for the necessary expenses.

The aim of implementing this project is to ensure that not only the present generation but also future generations live happily and healthy. Moreover, creating forests in urban areas is the only way to combat global warming. This initiative will encourage other schools and colleges to collaborate with Siruthuli and take up similar tree-planting projects, ensuring they are maintained properly. This effort by PSGR Krishnammal Women’s College, in collaboration with Siruthuli, serves as a model for protecting the environment and creating a greener world for future generations.
