Reading challenge 2022 conducted by Smarty Kids
The Reading Challenge event was organized by SmartyKids, an Online Education Platform based in Coimbatore and Omni Books Library. As the initiator the SmartyKids had launched the Reading Challenge early in August 2022 for Children below Eighteen years old.
The aim of the event was to encourage Children to read books which have become a rare habit in our modern e-World, where children are busy with so many electronic gadgets. This was a new experience to their Child said by all parents.
The Journey into the books for twenty-one days lead the children to new world of reading. All children participated promised they will continue reading and make it a habit. A Felicitation ceremony to appreciate the children participated was organized on the 11th of September 2022 on the occasion of Literacy Day at the Omni Books Library.
All children participated in the challenge were present with their parents in the ceremony.
Mr. Sunny Nagpal Project head of Kiran Bedi’s NGO was the Chief guest who shared his experience as stories with children, Guest of Honour Mr. SenthilKumar Rajappan, Founder of Halycon Ventures, also a notable Book reviewer in review programs of Flipkart, Amazon and, Blogadda.
Another Guest of Honour Mr. V.Natarajan, retired Assistant Commissioner of Central Excise, Customs & GST also graced the Felicitation ceremony. Mr. Rajan of Omni Books Library was also present and supported the event.
Children of different age groups participated in this challenge by submitting videos of them reading books on daily basis for 21 days and a book review video about the book they read. The videos received where validated by teachers of SmartyKids for the content. All Children Participated where appreciated with Medals and Certificates by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Omni Library.
The Founder of SmartyKids Mrs. Hamsaleela mentioned that this event was conducted for children as reading habits from young age can help the children in learning their academic lessons easily and rapidly. She expressed her gratitude to children, Parents and Guest for making the event a success. She also informed this type of challenges will be organized in the near future.
