The Indian start-up is revolutionizing marine agriculture as seaweed is considered to be a key alternative to human food and fuel needs for the future. The startup has built a giant machine. This will make it easier to harvest sponge crops from marine agriculture.
Seaweed is a protein-rich food and can also be used medicinally. It can also be used in cosmetics, clothing, biofuels, and biodegradable products. Currently, algae are usually grown on ropes or nets hanging in the sea. But, with the existing technology, it is possible to produce on a large scale at sea.
Sreekumar Suryanarayana, co-founder, and CEO of Sea6 Energy, a Bangalore-based startup in India, says the latest innovations in marine agriculture have not been followed so far.
This new technology developed by this company will be successful. Founded in 2010, Sea6 Energy also seeks to mechanize marine agriculture. It is said that this sea harvesting machine will completely change marine agriculture, just as the tractors completely changed agriculture.
