Stanes Annual Day glitters with the presence of alumni Ganapathy Rajkumar, MP of Coimbatore
Stanes School celebrated its annual day with a glittering ceremony with the presence of one of its distinguished alumni, the present MP representing Coimbatore. Dr. Ganapathy Rajkumar.
The event was a travel past memory lane for the once Mayor turned MP Dr. Rajkumar, who reminisced his good old school days and he said those were the days that made him what he is today in terms of being a accommodative politician and a leader in his own right. His adventures as he would call it were foundation stones for a political plunge probably and laid the foundation for excellent communication skills especially the fluency in English that he presently is proud of.
The event had his class mates join in for the celebration of the Annual Prize Ceremony. During the occasion he was conferred the Excelsa Sequar Award and it was a moment to rejoice when he called his mother to receive the award from the Guest. He said it was quite a moment he thought it fit to invite his mother to this wonderful occasion and celebrate this moment. As much as the Stanes had him in good stead for the person he is today, his mothers contribution to his life is immense and unparalleled he added.
An added anecdote was Sir Robert Stanes was one of the early Mayors of Coimbatore and Dr. Ganapathy Rajkumar also made it to the hot seat in his earlier avatar as Mayor of Coimbatore and that legacy was will be a part of history.
Sr Advocate and prominent Rotarian Rtn. AKS.N. Sundaravadivelu was the Guest of Honour and in his inspiring speech told the students to make the best of what life has to offer in the school days and that they are lucky to be a part of such a great legacy.
The event saw glittering awards presented to school toppers, awards for special performance in sports and culturals and NCC etc.
The event also saw a lot of cultural programmes from all the classes from kids to the senior school students across song, dance and drama.
