As the TN chief minister announced some relaxations in the lockdown protocols yesterday which included the lifting up of curbs on weekend worships in temples, it sure garnered the happy votes of a vast section of people.
With Vijayadashami being celebrated today, parents thronged to temples with their young ones to kickstart their educational journey and to seek the blessings of goddess Saraswati.
With the last Saturday of auspicious Purattaasi being observed tomorrow, the temple authorities should gear up for welcoming a surge of devotees. Perumal devotees sure can give a sigh of relief as they can end their Purattaasi fervor on a high religious note.
TN govt. is still making sure that things are in order and control. The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments commissioner J.Kumaragurubaran has instructed the senior HR & CE department officials and executives to visit various temples and make adequate arrangements to verify the preparedness to take in a large number of people.
As responsible citizens, we must adhere to government protocols. Wearing double masks and maintaining social distancing wherever we can help a long way in keeping the virus at bay.
