The Ballots ripped off as Suleswaranpatti mayoral candidate was declared the winner

The ballots were torn as the contesting candidate for the post of Suleswaranpatti mayor was declared the winner. It has been announced that the election will be postponed.

There are 15 wards in Suleswaranpatti municipality next to Pollachi. DMK candidates won in all 15 wards in the urban local body elections. Indirect elections were held in the office of mayor for the position of chairman and vice-chairman.

5th Ward Councilor Ragini has been declared the candidate for the post of Chairman on behalf of DMK. He filed his nomination with the Returning Officer Chandanammal. 2nd Ward Councilor Vanitha also filed her nomination. In the by-election that followed, Vanitha won by 8 votes. He was also awarded a certificate of success.

At this point, Councilor Ragini’s father, Aruchamy, entered the hall, snatched the ballot papers, put them in his shirt pocket and fled. It is learned that the election officials withdrew the certificate of victory from the woman.
