The BCCI handed over the big responsibility to VVS Laxman
Veteran batsman Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the new coach of the Indian cricket team. Accordingly, Dravid will be the coach of the Indian team until the 2023 ODI World Cup. Former India batsman VVS Laxman will be the next president of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The announcement was made by a senior official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Laxman, meanwhile, will replace his former teammate Rahul Dravid, who was recently appointed head coach of the Indian cricket team after Ravi Shastri’s tenure ended. A senior BCCI official told PTI, “VVS Laxman will be the new head of the NCA. Laxman said he had already stepped down as the coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad, the owner of the Indian Premier League.
Lakshmanan’s appointment is expected to take effect ahead of the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on December 4 in Kolkata. For this, Lakshman has to stay in Bangalore for at least 200 days. Accordingly, it is noteworthy that currently two greats of Indian cricket, Laxman and Dravid, will be working together.
