The Christian Lent began with Ash Wednesday worship

Ash Wednesday

The Christians around the world observe Good Friday, the day on which Jesus Christ was crucified. They also celebrate Easter on the day of his resurrection on the 3rd day. For the previous 40 days, Christians observe Lent to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus.

Christians will not eat non-vegetarian food during this Lent. A special return of Ash Wednesday was held at Christian churches in Coimbatore district at the beginning of this Lent. Many Christians took part in it.

Special return services were held at all the Valparai Pure Heart Church, Bakery St. Vanathuchinnappar Temple and Moody’s St. Anthony’s Church in the Valparai area.

At a special service on Ash Wednesday at Valparai Pure Heart Church, Mar Joseph Joseph, a participant, marked the cross with ashes on the foreheads of Christians to mark Ash Wednesday.
