Jason Nathaniel Kagoo from Coimbatore identified the flags of all 196 countries, found the name, capital, currency and language for 100 countries and has entered the “India Book of Records 2021” and two “Asia Book of Records” at the age 6.
The super talented kid Jason Nathaniel Kagoo was born on November 3, 2015, in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. He is not only able to identify the flags of 196 countries, capital etc. but also he can find 30 Road traffic signs, 15 shapes, ten vegetables, ten fruits, ten animals, ten birds, reciting 50 opposite words, planets, twelve Tamil Uyir Eluthukkal, months of the year and days of the week in English, Hindi and Tamil at the age of 5 years 3 months as in February 2021.
Every child is unique. The way they are coping with the impacts of lockdown is different. Likewise, Jason’s lockdown routine made him set records.
Mr Navin Kagoo, father of Jason said to YourCoimbatore.com that Jason is fond of Spiderman, Transformers, Bumble Bee and Sonic. He loves to draw and colour these cartoon characters and we started admiring the way he portrayed them with stories.
“After that, we introduced the flags of different countries and asked him to colour that. Surprisingly, he was much interested in colouring flags. It was then I decided to train him to identify the flags through the idea of storytelling. I created stories for each flag based on its colour, elements and shapes. Jason started liking the stories of each flag and started asking for more stories.”
“This had helped me to teach him more flags and within three months he was able to remember the flags of all 196 countries connecting them with their respective stories. Following which we practised to give an attempt ” To describe the colours and elements of 90 flags Blindfolded” and he did it in 25 minutes and 42 seconds. For this, he was given the “Asia Book of Records” in November 2021. Jason has done ” India Book of Records” for identifying the flags of 196 countries in February 2021.”
“After which I used the same technique of storytelling to make him connect the country name, its capital, currency and language for 100 countries. Again he has set the “Asia Book of Records” for that.”
“Every kid in this world is a genius if they have been under the right parental care and encouragement during their physical and emotional phases of growth and development,” says Mr Navin Kagoo.
“We never put pressure on him to do something. It’s his interest to learn new things every day. Because of lockdown, we had enough time to spend with him. We cope up and tune him according to his interest and talent. He can also mimic transformer robots with dialogues.
He is very active in participating in all the competitions like a fashion show, fancy dress, painting and kids marathon. He had won the ” Best Photogenic Award”, ” Best Walk Award” in the fashion shows held in the years 2018 and 2019. We are training him to achieve the ” Guinness Book of Records,” says Mrs Rebecca Nivin Kagoo.
Mr & Mrs Kagoo became inspiring parents and have set an example for others. They spent their time with their kid and found his talent and pursue it to achievement. It’s time for others also to become inspiring parents by spending time with their children and making it the topmost priority. Other than that parents should encourage their children to open up, focus on their child’s interests, introduce different types of learning styles, make learning fun through game-based, engage your children in social service, motivate their children, recognize and celebrate achievements.
When a baby is born, along with it a mother and father are also born. Often, we are eager to teach our little ones, while there is a lot to learn from them. So parenting is a two-way journey. You have to see what you want to learn from them and what you want to teach them. Don’t try to make your child fit into your vision. Give them a dream and help them walk towards it.
Parenting is a sacred responsibility. Our responsibility is not just providing food, shelter, and education. We are also responsible to ensure their mental outlook, emotions, intellect, thought processes, and behavior are on the right track. This is necessary.
Turning every day into a learning day may sound like a bit much, but it isn’t if you go about it the right way. Whenever possible, encourage your child to explore the world around him, ask questions and make connections. Help him categorize, classify and think critically of what he sees and experiences. Turning every day into a learning day will help your child develop the internal motivation to learn in the classroom, at home or wherever he may be.
Children are a blessing from the Divine. Not only do they bring immense joy with them, bringing them up is a highly educational experience for the parents. They get plenty of opportunities to become more caring, more patient, to lead by example and most of all, to shower all their love on their bundles of joy. In some sense, it will not be wrong to say that parents play the role of God. With so many flavours, parenting can be a very colourful journey and a rewarding one too.
