The Devotees pour yellow water on the pole and worship
There is a famous Mariamman Temple on Pollachi Shop Road. The temple celebrates the Friday election festival in the month of February every year. This year’s festival began with a fast on the 15th. This was followed by the erection of a pole in front of the temple at 10 pm on the 22nd.
Then the women bring yellow water from the houses and pour it on the pole and worship it. Due to the large number of devotees, cars and autos are not allowed to pass through the Mariamman Temple on Shop Street.
Due to this, barriers have been set up to prevent vehicles from crossing the barrier. But the devotees are having a hard time as cars and autos are leaving the barriers behind. Devotees are therefore urged to engage in surveillance work in the temple area by the police.
