Rampur Nawab, Property deal

Rasa Alikhan, who became the Nawab of Rampur in the state of Uttar Pradesh in 1949, died in 1966. He had 6 daughters and 3 sons, including 3 wives. There was a rift between the heirs in the division of property after his death. The matter, which went to court, has been going on for more than 50 years and is now over.

The Rampur District Court, which ruled on the basis of the Supreme Court order, announced that the assets would be divided among 16 heirs under Shariah law. While there were 18 heirs, 2 died during the trial. The Rampur District Judge has also sent the order for division of property to the Supreme Court as per the order issued in 2019.

According to the order, the property is to be divided among 16 people, including Nikat, daughter of the late Murtaza Ali Khan, son Murad Mian and wife of the late Mickey Mian, former MP Begum Noorbano, his son Naveed Mian and another party.
