The Corporation Commissioner has issued an order to seal the shops of those who have not paid their rent for a long time.
Begin with the communication giants
Airtel charges Rs 1.73 crore for laying fiber optic cable in five zones under Coimbatore Corporation from 2016-2017 to 2020-2021.
The digital company also had outstanding payments to Coimbatore corporation. The due amount of Rs.1.73 crores from Airtel, Rs. 9.48 crore from Geo Digital, and a total of Rs. 10.73 crore have been collected over the last month.
Corporation action on small, medium shops
Measures were taken to seal the shops of those who have not paid rent for the Corporation shops for a long time in Rama Krishnapuram Commercial Complex Shops and Thudiyalur Commercial Complex Stores.
As a result, tenants who have had arrears for a long time have paid Rs 2.77 crore as rent for the corporation-owned shops in the last 20 days.
Similarly, Letters have been sent to the Director and Managing Director, Integrated Child Development Service Office, Chennai, demanding payment of Rs 0.34 crore.
As per the order of the Commissioner of the Corporation, special measures are being taken to collect the revenue for tax-free items.
