In the urban local government elections, the AIADMK and DMK won in 36 wards under the Pollachi municipality. And 151 candidates, including political parties and independent candidates.

89 polling booths have been set up in Pollachi municipality for the urban local government elections. Surveillance cameras are installed at all these polling stations. In addition, 47 polling stations were found to be prone to political and religious clashes.
