The Treatment of a stray elephant with a wound in the Topslip area
Anaimalai Tiger Reserve A baby elephant with injuries was spotted near the Topslip in the Tamil Nadu-Kerala forest.
Knowing this, the forest department went there and treated the injured baby elephant. It was decided to take the baby elephant to the camp for treatment as it had a severe leg injury and had pus draining from it. The baby elephant was then loaded onto a truck and taken to a camp in Kozhikode with the help of Kumkis.
A makeshift cage was set up to treat the cub. Foresters continue to treat the cub in the cage. The cub is being monitored by a team led by Vanassaragar Kasilingam under the supervision of Deputy Director Ganesan on the orders of LTTE Archives Director Ramasubramaniam.
