There are many wild elephants in the Anaikatti area next to Coimbatore. They have infiltrated areas such as the lake, Varapalayam Nanchundapuram, Pannimadai and Kanuvai in search of food and drinking water and are damaging agricultural crops. Further human-animal conflict occurs.
In this situation, a 30-year-old female elephant came out of the forest of Subramaniasamy temple, the largest lake next to Coimbatore yesterday. The elephant suddenly fainted on the land owned by Anand. So could not get up.
District Forest Officer, Veterinary Dr Asokan, Forest Officer Arun and the medical team rushed to the spot on information. They loaded 30 bottles of glucose to give first aid to the unconscious elephant.
They also examined the body of the elephant and treated it accordingly. Yet the elephant continued to be anxious. The wild elephant died tragically without treatment.
