Valparai in Coimbatore district is experiencing heavy sun. Due to this, due to the scarcity of green fodder in the forest and the lack of water supply in the water bodies, the wild elephants have started migrating to the Kerala forest.

They split into smaller groups and pass through areas of the estate. Then there are the residential areas within the estate.

In this situation, 7 wild elephants with their cubs entered the Kanchamalai estate area at 11 pm last night. They then broke into the ration shop and threw away the bundles of rice.

They also ate rice and cheered. The forest department was informed about this. Foresters rushed to the spot and chased the wild elephants into the Sirukunra Estate forest.
