Robert E. in Richmond and archaeologists has unearthed a 130-year-old time capsule in Virginia. The time capsule has been found beneath the 130 – year – old statue of General Robert E. Lee Monument.
Following its discovery, Virginia Governor Ralph Northm tweeted about it. “This may be the time machine everyone is looking for,” he said. According to an article published in the newspaper in 1887, many artifacts, monuments and artefacts and a rare photograph of Abraham Lincoln and some long-sought treasures were placed beneath the statue.
The currently available box is scanned by X-ray. At the base of the same statue were three books, a cloth soaked in water, in an earlier Time Capsule found by the team. Also on the cover was a photo and a coin.
