TN cops should take part in Olympics; says Sylendra Babu

Director-General of Police(DGP) Sylendra Babu presented prizes and encouraged the winners of the state-level athletic meet in Coimbatore.
The 61st state-level athletic meet for the police department was held at the Nehru Stadium in Coimbatore. More than 400 policemen, armed police and commandos from four zones took part in the three-day event.
There were 22 categories of events including 100m,200m, 400m and 800m run, high jump, long jump and shot put. In this context, Greater Chennai police personnel scored 333 points and bagged the overall championship. Following them were the Armed police wing with 221 points. DGP Sylendra Babu felicitates the winners by giving away the prizes.
He then interacted with the reporters. He said, “There is a good connection between sports and the police department and this tradition continues. Training is being held to ensure that the cops regularly participate in each Olympic Games.”
