TN government directs to include folk art performances in govt events
The Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered to make folk arts a part of government programmes. The government has issued an order directing it to include folk arts not only in government functions but also in cultural events organised by private companies and IT firms.
It has also been ordered to hold folk art performances at functions held at factories and educational institutions.
The Industrial and Commercial Taxes Authority has ordered the Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu to take steps to make folk arts a part of government programmes.
It is noteworthy that the Government of Tamil Nadu has taken steps to preserve the traditional art forms and to refine the lives of the artists by passing on the significance of the indigenous arts to the next generation.
