Traffic Police Department is all set to create Accident- Free Coimbatore
The Coimbatore City Police has announced that the public can express their views through telephone, WhatsApp and social media to create an accident-free Coimbatore.
According to a press release issued by the Coimbatore City Police, various measures are being taken to create an ‘accident-free Coimbatore city’ on the orders of Coimbatore Police Commissioner Pradip Kumar.
The release read, “Accordingly, the Coimbatore City Police has taken various measures to create awareness among the public by ordering the implementation of a project called “Education, Enforcement, Engineering”.
Following this, the Coimbatore Police Commissioner has selected the main junction areas and selected them as ‘Traffic Violation-free Junction’ and directed to take action to create awareness among the motorists involved in the violation of rules.
As per the orders, the traffic police have selected the Chinthamani junction and Avinashi Road Annasilai junction and are raising awareness under the banner of ‘Traffic Violation-free junction’. Measures are being taken to create awareness on a shift basis at major junctions across Coimbatore.
In addition, the Traffic Police and the Traffic Investigation Division have been monitoring the areas where frequent road accidents occur and in consultation with the concerned government departments, necessary infrastructure and warning signs have been put up”.
The statement added that awareness is being created for school and college students, car, taxi, maxi cab, auto, private bus and government bus
drivers.
