Train timings to be changed in Coimbatore
The railway department has changed the timings of some trains to facilitate track maintenance work on the Coimbatore-Palakkad section.
Now, the Trichy-Palakkad Town train (no: 6843) would reach Coimbatore Junction 15 minutes earlier at 6.07pm and leave the station at 6.10pm.
The train would reach Podanur at 6.24pm, Madukkarai at 6.36pm, Ettimadai at 6.47pm, Walayar at 7.01pm, Kanjikode at 7.24 pm, Palakkad Junction at 7.40 pm and Palakkad Town at 8.15pm.
While the Coimbatore Junction-Palakkad Town train (no: 06807) would reach Palakkad Junction 10 mins earlier at 7.45pm, Coimbatore Junction-Palakkad Junction train (no: 06419) would leave Coimbatore 25 minutes late at 6.40pm and reach Podanur at 6.54pm, Kinathukadavu at 7.19pm and Palakkad Junction at 8pm as per the revised timings.
Similarly, the Coimbatore Junction-Kannur train (no:16608) will leave Coimbatore Junction 30 minutes earlier at 1.50pm and reach Podanur at 2.0 pm, Ettimadai at 2.18pm, Walayar at 2.30pm, Kanjikode at 2.44pm, Palakkad Junction at 3.02pm and Kannur at 8.50pm. The Coimbatore-Jabalpur weekly express train would, meanwhile, leave Coimbatore 15 minutes earlier at 3.10pm.
The changes in the timings would come into effect on August 18, an official source said.
