Viagra in Alzheimer’s treatment.
While Viagra is a boon for people with impotence, one study found that this ‘miracle pill’ reduced the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
U.S.A. researchers say Viagra, used to treat impotence, could be used to treat Alzheimer’s disease. A team from the Cleveland Clinic examined the data of more than 70 million patients. Laboratory tests on the human tissues of those taking the drug showed an increase in brain cell growth in those taking the drug.
The study found that sildenafil, a drug used in Viagra, reduced the risk of Alzheimer’s by 69 percent. The results of the study were published in the journal Nature Aging.
