Watchtowers in Coimbatore to value the importance of time
Coimbatore police have erected 2 watchtowers at Crosscut road and Oppanakkara street, the major commercial hubs of the city. 20 police personnel were deployed to regulate the traffic in each of these busy areas.
As the festivities are galore, people are on a shopping spree. Owing to the heavy rush, cops in plain clothes were assigned to nab thieves and bag lifters. With CCTV cameras installed across the entire stretch, all the movements were monitored from police outposts.
Police are using the public addressing system to instruct shoppers on keeping their valuables safe and for making the motorists follow road rules.
With masks on, Diwali shopping is on.
