Reports continue to come in that raise concerns about the Covid infection. The discovery of a highly mutated new variant of the coronavirus has raised concerns. Therefore, the World Health Organization convened a special meeting to discuss the situation.
The WHO meeting on Friday (November 27, 2021) discussed the impact of the current vaccine (Covid Vaccine) and treatments on the new variant coronavirus. The WHO says the new mutation in the coronavirus B.1.1.529, after consultation with experts, is a “variant of concern” (COVID-19 infection). WHO Warns countries against imposing travel restrictions.
WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeyer said it would take several weeks to determine the spread of the variant and the effectiveness of vaccines and treatments against it, with 100 rows of variations announced so far.
Lindmayer said people should wear masks, avoid large crowds, stay in well-ventilated rooms and maintain hand hygiene.
