Why BlackBerry phones are discontinued?

BlackBerry was once the most popular smartphone model that everyone wanted. The highlight of this is security. Even US presidents used these smartphones for their security. Thus, its market value increased at jet speed. The number of customers around the world has increased.

BlackBerry’s market value in 2007 was $ 600 million. If it occupied more than 50 percent of the overall smartphone market in the United States, guess the brand value of this company for yourself.

It was in 2002 that BlackBerry first introduced their smartphone. That mobile does not have any features including Color, WiFi, and Messaging Futures. Then in 2006 it released the next version, adding some extra futures. The fall of BlackBerry, which had hitherto been colossal in the market, began with the introduction of their first smartphone by Apple.

Sales of the BlackBerry were down as the best futures on the iPhones turned customers to its side. However, for the company that was constantly introducing new smartphones in the market, the competition started to come to the market with many companies further impacting.

As a result, BlackBerry’s CEO announced that it will be offering Security Software Services to software companies from 2016.Subsequently, on December 22nd, it announced that BlackBerry 7.1 OS and earlier versions would be discontinued from January 4th. Accordingly, in older versions of BlackBerry, calls, texting and even the emergency call number 911 can no longer be called today.
